« Reply #-1 on: June 09, 2015, 11:51:04 PM »
Kimmie and I made a road trip to Albert's house today for steak, and man he did a great job.

As you can see he started Kimmie's 10 min's before staring the rest  :D :D :D ???  Albert looked at me and said OH NO!!!!

As you can see the steak is well done ??? ??? ??? ???    Albert kept saying I ruined it Tommy I ruined it!   I said NO you did not it's perfect.  He said no way,  I said yes way!!

Can y'all tell which one is Kimmie's

Here is the "Chef" putting it all together

And here is the master piece.  Buttered skrimp and steak

Kimmie says it was the best steak she has had!  Thanks for a great time and a great steak!!  We must do it again!

Looks like a wonderful dinner and a great trip. Good for you!

As a cook (I am NOT a chef) I want to make the people I cook for happy. I might feel that cooking a steak or other food "too long" is bad - but if that is how my guests like it - well then, that's how I make it. I am cooking to make them happy. It is not about me and what I think is right - it is about what will make them happy for dinner, lunch, breakfast.

I like my egg yolks runny - my wife's family likes them hard. It is not my job to "educate" them, it is my job to feed them and make them happy. I get tired of the "chefs" that tell us how to eat - make us some food we want to eat - that's all.

So, Kimmie - good on you! Go for what you like!

Looks great Tommy.  We may have to plan another road trip that goes from one LTBBQ member's house to the next.  A visit to Albert's would be included.

Tommy and Albert, great food, great friends, and a great visit. If Albert cooks it, I would eat a 181 degree steak because it would still taste delicious. Albert, leave the shrimp off of mine when I visit, please.

When I was chefing, if someone ordered a well-done steak I suggest eating a shoe instead! IMHO no beef should be cooked over med-rare. SWMBO wants to stab her beef as it walks by...

I could never justify re-killing an already dead steak!

Guest or not I would have made Kimmie do it :D

The rest of the steaks look good :P

muebe - I have learned a TON from you - but I stick with the idea that my guest is my guest - I will cook to their pleasure - that is why they come to my house. I agree with you about how things "should" be cooked, but I also believe my guest is my guest... just sayin'....

I told Kimmie that PETA was going to be mad about killing a steak but she wouldn't listen to me  ;)

True. All kidding aside I will cook something the way a guest wants. But family members can burn their own dang steak!
