Jaxon's Byron Gathering
« Reply #-1 on: October 11, 2015, 08:37:12 PM »
We who were at the Jaxon's Thursday evening through Saturday afternoon had a wonderful time and the food was plentiful.

I'll let the others going into details.  I just want to say that Jack and Deb were the perfect host and hostess.  The work that has been put in the back yard and Jack's cooking area has really paid off.  If you ever want to build a great cooking area in your back yard talk with Jack about how to get it done.

We had a drawing for a PBC and Mike "High on Smoke" went back to Hinesville, GA with a shiny new cooker.

If you ever get a chance to be among the folks here on the forum for any "Gathering" please do your best to do it. You will find some of the best, most down-to-earth people you'll ever meet.

Once again thanks to Deb and Jack for all the work they put in to make everything so enjoyable for all of us.

One thing I will add.  The service of the host was so bad I felt like I might as well be at home.

Dee

I can only echo what Dee has said about the Gathering at Jaxon's. It was a blast and Jaxon and Deb were
outstanding as always. If there is anyway possible you should try to attend one of these gatherings. I can
guarantee you will not be disappointed and you will not leave hungry. Here are my photo contributions
from the cookout. Lots of photos so enjoy.

Albert (Albert Rivera) and Brad (bczajka)

Terry (tlg4942), Albert and Brad

Tim (tee), Terry, Jaxon, Brad and Dee (Dee Stafford)

Jaxon's ribs from his offset

Tee, Don (IR2DUM) and Jaxon

Brad, Dee and Don

My 13 pound packer brisket trimmed and seasoned with Top Secret #2. Ready for a long cook with the Slow N Sear

Finished Low Country Boil - Amazingly mouthwatering delicious!

Jaxon and Mark (tlg4942's brother in law)

Sylvia (Albert's beautiful wife) and Albert

Breakfast snack I cooked with the remaining coals from the brisket cook.

Chicken ready for the PBC

Brisket being sliced. Cooked for 14 hours (topped off the charcoal 1 time) Melt in your mouth good!

Pulled pork cooked on the PBC

Finished Chicken

Jaxon's Pit area

Me fortunate enough to win the drawing for the PBC

Because of the angle of the sun when the picture was taken, it was not readily apparent that for the last three months Tee has been going to the gym three days a week.  He has a personal trainer who has a fantastic life story which keeps getting Tee out of bed those three days to go to the gym.  Dee
