Tommy , Its only a couple thousand $$$ a bottle, should make some good sauce...
And Don I may just have to make that trip to Wapakoneta...

This brings a story to mind.
A couple years ago a guy called and wanted a security system in his hunting camp. Apparently some kids broke in and drank all the beer, grilled some meat from the freezer and made a general mess of the place. Looked like they stayed for the weekend.
Once we were there he told us the real issue though. He had a $2300 bottle of Scotch. The bottle itself was hand blown glass which they chipped in several places and it appeared that they mixed it with coke!!!  ??? :o...
He said and I quote'The thought of mixing it with coke just pi$$ed me off).

I would be so mad if that happened to me, I wonder if he ever caught those kids.  I would have an invoice waiting for them on that scotch.

I entered, and if I win, all are welcome to come have some.

Tommy,
If you win the bottle, you will have a lot of company to share it with.  To quote Jaxon, "Just saying'...."

I would sure enjoy winning it!!! I have an amber log cabin shaped bottle of Holtzermann's Stomach Bitters. The amber bottle is rare but what makes this one unique is it has the contents in with a lead seal! The label on the front is perfect, 33 1/3 percent alcohol. The label on the side is a tax stamp from Ohio dated 1917 so next year it will be 100 yrs. old.

A lot of our Grandmothers did not drink but had t have their stomach bitters!

I don't think I will try to drink any of it unless I want to die!!! Don

They are a digestive aid. Many European countries have their own elixirs which are made from various herbs and alcohol. Being Italian I know a bit about the Italian versions. Some perk the appetite and are called appetivos, others aid the digestive process and are called digestivos. Remarkably,  they work well!
