Finally Made Some Good Home Fries
« Reply #-1 on: April 25, 2018, 03:38:18 PM »
I have tried different methods suggested on here to get that real homefry look, texture and taste and so far I was disappointed until I tried this.
I did the 1\2 hour soak in cold water to draw out starch, they then went into a microwave on high for 6 minutes.
After that they got a tablespoon of olive oil coating, just enough to coat them. I sprinkled them with some Lawry's Smoked Garlic Salt (coarse ground with parsley).
Into the Air Fryer @400F for 20 minutes giving them a toss every so often.
These turn out acceptable. Nice and crisp on the outside and soft and cooked in the center.
