Hi All,
I live in a townhouse community and just got my PBC over the summer. So far so good. I've had about 5 cooks (mostly ribs and chicken). I fire up my PBC on my back patio but I'm nervous about potential complaints from my neighbors due to the amount of smoke.
Any tips or hacks for minimizing the amount of smoke? The only thing I can think of is to direct the smoke with a fan but not sure if that will solve my problem.
Thanks

That is a tough one since the PBC does not have a single exit for smoke...
Perhaps buy your neighbors some smoke masks :P

Welcome! To minimize smoke try leaving the hood open as long as possible when lighting once hot the charcoal won't smoke as much, but it will be hotter which could be more of a fire hazard. There are fire resistant pads available at Home Depot that help with the heat from the grill.

Not sure of how your place is laid out...but - consider a compromise location for your PBC if you get complaints. If there is a "common" area, that may have a concrete or brick patio/picnic area...or maybe even a side walk that is out in the open more , to allow the initial smoke to dissipate quicker. An area where the opportunity exists for more air movement, and more wide open space will help. It may also work against you a bit depending on wind direction.

It never hurts to bring neighbors some smoked offerings.............
