CB sent me one last year to play with
I made two batches of paella in it but haven't used it since
it works great but the paella pan they sell with it is too small for the burner rings
since then I'm made a couple of batches of paella with the pan
but I made the paella in my Char-Broil Urban RED IR grill
with wood chips, to smoke under the grate
much better!
you could also use a 14" paella pan on a CB SRG

I picked up a discada and use that on my MPC - works great. Much better size.

David, how big is your discada / disc cooker?
I was looking at some that are 22"
some that are 24"
and some with a rim around the edges

I have two. One is the 20" from Blue Moon Disk Co. - http://www.bluemoondisk.com/Products.php. The other is a huge 24" from Southwest Discada - http://www.southwestdisk.com/southwest-discada-cooking-plow-disks/. This one comes with removable legs to use over live fire.
The 20" fits my Char-Broil MPC perfectly (better than the supplied pan) and is just the right shape for paella, fajitas, Philly steak, and more. It's great for large parties - make the meat and veg, warm tortillas at the same time and let folks put their own together.
The 24" with legs is nice on a campfire, over my fire pit, or even charcoal. Plenty of room to do several things at one time.
Neither have the lip. While I can see some use for that - I don't think I'd like it - I like to use two spatulas and move things around - think the lip might get in the way. I've found the disc is large enough with enough depression to let me make a decent paella without a problem.
Cleanup and care is much like a cast iron pan. And like cast iron - they are heavy!

have you tried it on your MPC with the legs off?
I was thinking if I buy just one disc, that's the one I want to get
but it needs to work on the MPC without it's legs too

I have not tried the big one on the MPC - the 20" has worked so well (and frankly has enough room to make a meal for the neighborhood) I haven't felt the need. When I was last in ND I left "Roswell" with my brother (he was going camping) so, unfortunately, I can't try it right now. I would think it would work (the way the legs attach should not cause a problem) the only concern I would have is it is so big that it would take a while to get it to temp on the MPC.
I've used the smaller one (and there is one in between - 22") on live fires as well - just found some rocks or bricks and once some scrap metal, to prop it above the coals. So, legs aren't essential.
If I were going to do it again and just get one disk - I'd probably go for the 22" from Blue Moon (I like theirs because it comes with the bag and scraper - but I have seen no difference in performance between the two.) The 22" is probably (IMHO) a perfect size - big enough for a big group, but "small" enough to be easy to handle.
If you aren't in a hurry - I will be getting the big one back after Thanksgiving and will try it on the MPC and let you know how it goes.
