apple pannekoeken.
apple pannekoeken.
great for breakfast if you like sweet food in the morning.
this is my way . any advice or criticism is welcome .
i Peel and sliced apples . then fry them in a pan with brown sugar and cinnamon.
made a batter from 2 eggs, milk and vanilla ..
when the sugar caramelized i add few drops of milk .
mixed all well.
add the batter ,mixed well .
cover for 5 minutes till you can see small bubbles through the batter .
put it under the broiler in the oven till got brown .
flip it over in a plate .
i did not add any whipped cream or sugar powder,
it was sweet enough.

Wow! That looks wonderful. It brings back memories of the days I lived in a North Dakota city heavily influenced by German heritage. The restaurant in the Grand Pacific Hotel, commonly called the GP, served strong coffee, kuchen and pannekoeken. I was a heavy user of all three. (Pun intended.)
I asked the manager about the Dutch pannekoeken mixed in with the German dishes. Her reply, "Same thing."

Looks real good from here, thanks for posting

I grew up in North Dakota! Paul, was that hotel on a corner of main street in Bismarck?
Haven't had a pannekoeken in years. Ahron, yours is an inspiration - will stop in at Kroll's Kitchen next time I go back. Looks delicious.
-
Used to have a restaurant growing up called Pannekoeken Huis. If you ordered a Pannekoeken, they would rush it to your table yelling Pannekoeken.
Looks excellent

What a delicious looking breakfast or dessert!

Paul, was that hotel on a corner of main street in Bismarck?
NE corner of 4th and Broadway. Main is a block South.
If you walked out of the Q&R Clinic, crossed the street and went through the phone company building you'd cross the alley and go in the hotel back door. It's gone, now. I heard it burned.

You are right. I grew up in Bismarck.

OMG, you brought back good old memories! In Germany, these are called apfelpfannkuchen (apple pancakes), and my mother also made pflaumenpfannkuchen (plum pancakes). However, hers were really simple - a thin batter with the fruit added - sliced apples in apfelpfannkuchen and halved plums cut side up) in pflaumenpfannkuchen. Although these were not special occasion breakfasts, we typically had them when fresh in-season fruit was available.
Yours looks very good!
