Title: That Weber sure makes a great steak!
Post by: veryolddog on November 07, 2013, 08:31:34 PM
Did a nice rib eye on the Weber this evening for dinner. I started the coals at 5:35 PM as it was starting to get dark. I do not have that much light out their so I timed the steak on both sides and used the Thermapen to get the internal temperature so I would not overcook.

We served up the steak with baked potato, sour cream, and each of us had a whole avocado to go with it.

That baby does a nice job grilling.

We buy those steaks at Sam's Club once a month in a package of four. They are over a pound per steak and nice and thick. They are always Angus choice and as tender as can be.

Just a note: I marinated that steak in worcestershire sauce and covered with Sweet Lou's Rub.

What did ya think of the Roast Rub?

Actually, the Roast Rub is very good. I sprinkled the rub on the steak after I doused it with Worcestershire sauce. Then just before I put it on the grill, I dusted the steak again with the rub. The flavors are excellent and perfect for beef.

Just to let you know, I am going to slow cook a chuck roast tomorrow on the stick burner and I added the rub to the marinade I made for the beef. Then tomorrow, when I remove the chuck roast from the marinade, I am going to apply the Sweet Lou's Roast Rub again. I was also thinking of adding it to a pile of onions and peppers that I plan to saute for a side dish.

Thanks again.

Glad ya like it Ed. Don't let the name "Roast Rub" fool you. I have had it on roasted chicken and pork ribs with excellent results. It is "All Purpose" if ya ask me. It is my "Desert Island" rub.  If I could only have one......this would be it  8)

The steak looks great, and the Weber can do a nice job including adding smoke.
