Bah,mainstream based on a lot of bad science set by experts with agendas. That has become the be all end all,set in stone facts that arent facts at all.
I was shocked when I started researching how these recommendations for salt, carbs, cholesterol were set,so much agenda from just a few 'experts' that couldnt admit they were wrong,so handpicked papers that backed their assertions, (and fired others on the panels who disagreed with them,Im not kidding) has set our entire diet/food policy. You'd be shocked how much is based on nothing but the thinnest of evidence and without scientific studies at all.Its Politics to the max in how its done, cronyism, egos and bad bad science.
Now we have many studies, and they are disproving the mainstream 'facts' left and right.
Thats my take on it.
Do a lot of research, its at our fingertips to choose what is healthy and what isnt.Believe it or not,you will be smarter than most of the experts who didnt, and still dont.
