SRG Chicken
« Reply #-1 on: August 19, 2012, 08:32:49 PM »
I seasoned the 5 pound chicken with Old Bay and Olive oil. Old bay is one of my favorites for chicken.

Into the SRG, that was a trick gettin that chicken to stand on her hind legs and stay :)

Then in 50 minutes she was done and a little bit of the skin got left in the SRG, My fault ;)

Then we made a chicken sandwich with wickles on the side.

Thanks for lookin!!

That chicken looked like it was just hangin' out in the hot tub! I have found that using a stainless steel stand or a ceramic one ( that is like what you would use if you like the "beer can" chicken - but don't want to put aluminum and ink in your meat ;) )- is a great way to keep the chicken centered in the basket, and to add flavors to the inside of the chicken at the same time.

Your chicken certainly looks cooked nicely - how did you like the taste and moisture content?

It was very moist and really tasty!!! The interior gets a lot hotter than I had expected. you definately wanty to take the basket out whilst trying to center your chicken, Doh.... ;D
