Wifes Rib roast
« Reply #-1 on: September 08, 2012, 09:48:25 PM »
The wife made me a rib roast for dinner with Yorkshire pudding and Zuccini with Parmasen cheese and butter. This was the best dinner I have had in a long time.  I have made this entire dinner on the BBQ before but sometimes its just nice to use the appliances my house came with :)

4.5 pound rib eye roast bone on and cooked to perfection to my liking ;D

Home made gravy before the corn starch, Gawd my wifes awseome :)

Yorkshire puddin in the oven, I think its a canadian thing

Ok look ehe, the bloody yorkshire is lookin splendid is why ehe 8) (my wife is from canadian descent)

All plated and Shaunee (named after a canadian tractor her mother walked by on the way to school everyday) made me my favorite sour cream and horseradish dipping sauce for the beef :)

Thanks once again for looking, I hope you enjoy my post as much as I enjoy yours  :) :) :)

WOW!!!!!!

THAT looks great!!!!!

Of course - we WILL need that recipe for the Yorkshire pudding. ;D.....Have not had that in a long time... Seriously - that is a real comfort food meal. I can understand why it is your favorite! Might be mine too :)

I'll get that recipe out of Shaunee , she is a little stubborn bout them recipes she got from her Mum. Its pretty simple but the amounts need to be precise. She talks in her sleep so on my way upstairs and I'll get back to yah in the morning :)

Thanks guys, Heres that receipt for Y'all :)

Yorkshire pudding
4 room temperature eggs
1/2 Teaspoon salt
1-3/4 flour this is a guess as she eyeballs it
1- cup of milk  "   "      "        "          "
Mix with wire whip consistency should be a little thinner than pancake batter but not runny

Heat drippings from roast at 425° until they start to sizzle then take the pan out and pour in the batter. Return to oven and watch for batter to rise fully, dont open the door. make sure center is cooked fully about twenty minutes. You can us a muffin tin if you want but we like it in the roasting pan. Slice a portion and cover with gravy
Note: get extra fat from the butcher to put on top of the roast while cooking so you have plenty of drippings.

My wife has a plaque in the kitchen - "My next kitchen will just have vending machines..."

What a great looking meal - and I bet it tasted even better.
