No grill weekend...
« Reply #-1 on: June 01, 2015, 10:43:17 AM »
No grill weekend ???  But it was a good one. My sister came over and brought two platters of shrimp, fish and oysters to start it off.
My son and daughter called me to go fishing with them Sunday.
This is incredibly rare, It has been years in fact since just the three of us have been together all day fishing with no cell phones,    kids or significant others. The weather was perfect in the mid 80's and the water was around 80. (we were waste deep a lot)..
Did not catch much but that doesn't matter.  The company made the day.
We found a new place to eat for lunch, Sassy Bass were no shirt no shoes  is no problem...or wet clothes and the po boys are old school like they are suppose to be!(piled high with shrimp).

It's fishing...not catching.

But you "caught" the best part of it. Time with the kids. Never enough of it  - is there?

Terry, that's my kind of weekend. Nice speck. Will you and Chris show me where you caught him next time I am there?

I am heading into the very few grill weekend season - softball. Both my daughters play fastpitch softball - tournaments virtually every weekend - 7 am to 9pm - YIKES. Unfortunately more parks are banning grills these days - used to be we could "tailgate" make snacks, lunches, etc... not so much anymore. Going to have to look for "shortcuts" to grill in the weekday evenings. I'm thinking SV might be a way to do this with some planning.

The upside - many tournaments are near lakes - will bring my fly rod and see if I can catch a few for later in the week... :) Thanks for the inspiration!
