If I were more tenacious, I would try cooking the sammies at different temperatures to try and get over the uneven bacon cooking, but I think short of deep frying the dang thing, you'd run into the same problem, maybe just to a lesser degree. I had to draw the line somewhere; I do have SOME standards when it comes to health!! (Although obviously eating multiple bites of bacon grease-soaked cheese sandwiches aren't on that list of standards!)
Speaking of which, I ran across bacon-wrapped deep fried oreos while checking into this sandwich thing... hmmm......
