A day at the races....no not the Marx brothers ...Belmont
« Reply #-1 on: June 26, 2016, 03:54:58 PM »
A friend takes ten to twenty of us each year for over 30 years to Belmont for a day of great food & racing?  Because of work I have only made it three times. This year the food was great but I lost every race (there goes my cook air) :'( :'( :'(

We were in an aircondioned  room with private betting at the finnish line. We could go outside to the paddock or to watch the race.

But the food was really good

The steak salad was amazing (loaded with medium rare steak onions & tomatoes. The prime rib was also great. two huge helpings of both & I was stuffed That & a few whiskey & gingers to wash it all down.  With pecan pie for my sweet tooth.....I did not want to leave :'( :'(
