A new twist on Low Carb Lasagna
« Reply #-1 on: May 25, 2020, 10:03:05 AM »
Was driving home from work Friday and it hit me, I wanted lasagna but how to keep it lower carb than with noodles??

I decided on lavish bread as the noodles but was not sure how I was going to pull it off but here it is

First cut bead to fit dish

Then add filling to first layer

Then another layer of bread with more filling

top with last layer of bread and fillingBaked at 350 for 35 mins

NOTE: for first time I used precooked meat so no danger of meat not being cooked all the way through

Time to eat, very good noodles were ok like soft noodles that were over cooked a little BUT worth the carb savings!

This is a shot the next morning to show layers

Recipe used is this...

1...       2  Pieces of low carb lavish bread    16 total carbs  cut to fit dish
2...       2/3 lbs of Italian sausage (ground)   pre cooked
3...       1   pound mozzarella graded
4...        1   jar 13 oz RAO's sauce

I used an 8X8 baking dish for this one and I pre cooked the sausage just to make sure there were no issues with the meat

I baked for 35 mins  on 350 temp

That looks pretty good. My wife and I will make low carb lasagna with ground turkey and spaghetti squash. Where do you get your bread at?

Wal-Mart believe it or not.   Bought some on a whim just to see hoe it was turned out good so I use it for pizza crust, rolled meat sammies, cheese bread and so forth

At 8 carbs per sheet its worth it

I'm looking at writing a short recipe book for lavish bread.   I still have many ideas floating around in my mind so stay tuned
