Black Olive pellet grill
« Reply #-1 on: May 12, 2013, 11:28:43 AM »
I saw one of these at a BBQ supply store in Austin, TX yesterday.

http://blackolivegrill.com/products/pellet-grill-l/

It looks pretty good. It is very well insulated. The guy at the store says he did a test cook. He ran it at 300 for a while then bumped it up to 600 (don't remember exactly how long he ran it) and it consumed a very small amount of pellets.

Looks interesting. I have always struggled with the small cooking area of these types of grills. Other hen hat they seem awesome. 650 degrees would be nice!

It is a nice pellet grill but there are much better options in the price range IMHO.

Black Olive - 19" diameter, maybe 5" of headroom? = $1800

OldSmokey - 22" diameter, 12" of headroom, with almost straight walls = $64

Capt, maybe we should turn an OldSmokey into a pellet pooper?  ;)      The wheels are turning!  ??? ??? ???

Go getcha one Tommy, it's a fun little cooker. The only thing I could think of that I would improve is adding a raised up charcoal grate for some serious searing.
