Got some wet pellets? Waste Not!
« Reply #-1 on: May 17, 2013, 01:33:22 PM »
Spent the morning cleaning out my cookshack and found that I had a bag of pellets that broke open and got wet on one end (now dry but no longer solid).  Cursing fate and my own lack of good storage space, I started to chuck them in the trash when I had a blinding flash of the obvious:  Even though they are too dusty now to feed properly in the auger, they still have their flavor!

Grabbing the broom and dustpan, I carefully swept them into a new container and labeled them:  "Flavor Pellets -- For PBC Use Only".  You see, every time I fire up the PBC I always throw in a handful or two of pellets to get some woodiness along with the charcoal smoke.  These "ruined" pellets will still provide woody goodness in both my PBC and Weber charcoaler.

Now, I'm only half as mad at my self for not having a garage  ::)

Great idea! Works with almost any cooker.
