To my complete surprise USPS delivered an unsuspecting package.
Opened it up and holy crap inside was the new Savannah Stoker v3 pellet grill controller.
First impressions, looks great with most used function buttons added plus indicator lights.
Real clean design and a long way from the first one about 5 years ago. Well done Billy.
Will install this tomorrow and take if for a flight.
Thanks much Billy

very cool. those are for traegers right? they look clean. are they for sale?
-
Nice to see it finally!
Is the variable fan speed automatic by set point or did he omit that on this new version? The last stoker had a hi/lo fan speed button.
Never mind Art I read the other post where you answered it.

Yep for Trager, Royall, Braz's Grill Works and any pit that uses the Trager like controller or Ortech.
It is mostly a plug an play controller. Took me 6 minutes to up and running but I should mention
I have done this many times before.
As far as for sale send an email to Bmerrill1@suddenlink.net.
Check out Face Book "Savannah Stoker Pellet Grill Controller" for more info.

Not a variable fan Mike, it has 3 fan speeds, Normal, Medium and Slow and is set in the Operational Parameters.
Still learning this new controller.

Ok I thought it might have low speed when at lower temps and high speed when at grilling temps.
Very cool!
Here is the V.2 installed in my PTG...

Same thing. Low and Medium for smoking and Normal for Grilling.
You are the only one I know that could get a PID controller work in a midget pellet grill.
Nice job I must say.

According to Billy, Don and I received 2 of the first 10 units of the SSv3 produced.
The factory just made 10 as proof of the prototype.
The first full production run will be here in a few weeks.

First run without any tuning or adjustments smoking some sausages at 215 degrees . Amazing.

Would be interested in seeing the differences with different fan speeds.

I agree.
My system is set up as with an adjustable and variable fan speed which I have been experimenting with.
To properly check out this controller I will disable the variable fan speed system for a couple of runs.
But, I am not into doing a bunch of testing as this has been already accomplish over the last year by Billy.
Instead it will be smoking, and for now the sausages are coming along fine.
