Hey guys,
Mick from Sydney, Australia here :). Heard about this forum from Divey (http://www.letstalkbbq.com/index.php?topic=13581.0), another noob here.
I am a shooter and hunter and huge meat eater so should find this a great site. I use a hand made BBQ at home and while away in the bush, the home one is 1200x450mm made out of 1/2" steel, 1" sides and a 2" back with a stainless steel splash back, there is also a 40mm hole for drainage, its been my home BBQ since the 80's. My portable plate is also plain steel with folded edges and made to fit inside the box of a portable gas stove, it lives behind the seat in my ute. I also have a Weber Kettle BBQ (http://www.weber.com/grills/series/original-kettle) for doing roast and stuff.
My preference in the bush is to use a wood fire, but at times, actually fairly often in Summer, we can't light fires so the gas does the job. At home its natural gas power and bottle gas or coals in the Weber.
I was born and raised in Malmö, Sweden, moved here when I was ten years old in 1970, couldn't speak a word of English but now leave most Aussies for dead in their version of the language ;D. Electrical Contractor by trade but generally known as a jack of all trades. After a lengthy time with very ill health, I have now started up a contract shooting business to help our farmers rid their places of pests and vermin.
Well, that's enough about me, looking forward to reading about your kit, recipes and your other likes.

Welcome from North Carolina. Besides cooking, I love to shoot and hunt, with an occasional side of fly fishing. You'll fit right in around here.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the welcomes, I'll get some pictures soon, but we are in a fierce storm and downpour period at the moment, have emptied about 230mm of water out of the pool in the last couple of days, it does look like breaking now though.
Ok, so where is this map?, pretty sure I added my little spot on the planet in my profile?.

Hey guys,
I was just wondering if anyone is interested in seeing some pictures of the Aussie outback, farming and some of our hunting escapades?. I haven't had a chance to read all the rules on here yet, but figure seeing its a BBQ site, the main aim is to cook dead animals so it really shouldn't come as too much of a shock?. Obviously I'll only post the more sedate images as even some members on my own hunting forum get a bit squeamish over some pictures ???.
Still working on getting some images of my different BBQ's, will get it done ASAP.
Btw, the other noob on here, Divey, and myself are heading off on a week long hunt trip next week to Wester NSW, we should be able to get a few nice pics from there for you too :).

Heck yeah! Only pics banned here are of Tee's legs

Hey Mick, might be able to bring back a pigs leg so I can make some ham, and, maybe a whole loin for some bacon. :P
