Title: First cook on the PBC
Post by: LarryO1947 on February 11, 2017, 06:24:55 PM
Did chicken on the PBC for my first cook. Could not believe how juicy and moist it came out. I really believe it's the best chicken I have ever made on a smoker.

I wanted crispy skin, so I cooked at a higher than normal temp. I left one of the rods out so it would be higher. It was 40 degrees here and it still didn't get up to my target temp of 325-350. So, I cracked the lid for about 10 min's. This brought the temp up a little bit higher than I wanted but after about another 10-15 min's it settled in at about 330-335 with the lid closed.

Nice job!.  Chicken was also the first thing I cooked on my PBC and I was amazed at how juicy it was.  It is a great chicken cooker.

Fact is you can cook a lot of stuff on your PBC but Noah's basic chicken approach and recipe are what mine gets used for most often.  I've got chicken halves hanging in there probably 90% of the time.  Haven't found anyone yet who doesn't love it  ;D
