This hobby can work well with or without cooking, drinking and swimming. Kids & grandkids great too. Jaws from the pool.

You can do it for well under 1,000 or spend ten's of thousands.

I did my system for under $1,000.00 & it works great lots of fun.

All in one Epson projector (built-in DVD) refurb $337.00 with two year warranty

Water proof dual speakers  $60.00 ***

Carpet $30.00 Costco

Sears rolling cart $79.00 ????

Speaker wire & extras $100.00

Total $804.00

*** I bought some plastic flower pots & odd cut lumber with cement. I made quick mount speaker stands for them works great.

In the little hill country town of Wimberely, Texas
is a walk-in outdoor theatre

The Corral theatre has been there since I was a little kid in the 50s

GREAT FUN

Captain that looks great....I want to go ;D what a great setup..... Have you ever tailgated in the parking lot? More & more places are allowing it now. Nothing like Steak & a movie. Do you go often?

Captain Jack: the Coral outdoor theater is only 28 miles from where I live. I didn't even know that it was there. Sounds like a nice way to spend an evening.

Thanks for the tip.

We had some friends do this a few years ago during the World Series. We barbecued, lit a bon fire, and then projected the game on their shed in the back yard. They just hooked up their laptop to the projector and ran the sound through their stereo.

Now it has become a fall tradition with movies and the World Series if the Cardinals are playing.  ;D

Tailgating
I'm embarrassed to say that I have never tailgated
I don't normally go to sporting events
but I do hunt, fish, & camp
so tailgating for me is taking my portable grill when I hunt, fish or camp and grill something

the gravel parking lot in front of the Corral theatre might hold 8 cars?
most folks walk to the theatre from where they are locally in the tiny town of Wimberley
or ride a bicycle
or park on the side of the road where the theatre is

this is our "car camping" tent/setup on a 4th of July weekend
at the famous BlueHole springs/swimmin' hole in Wimberley
from here we just walked the half mile to the Corral theatre
unfortunately they don't allow camping at BlueHole anymore  >:(

my little aluminum CharBroil grill

Captain that is a great setup you have for camping.....love the flag! I would not worry about not taigating you do everything else.......I don't hunt but love to fish & boat! Anyway Tailgating really is any cooking with friends outside on the road or backyard. If you ever make it to NJ stop by a Jet game for some tailgating. The others can cook well even if I can't :-[

Assuming I make it, I will be happy to share my pictures from South America, Africa and Europe. I have been blessed with the opportunity to visit these places and look forward to sharing my experiences with anyone that is interested!

As we get closer, let's talk about the best way to project and share these pictures as well as the pictures from everyone else. I am happy to work with you on this, Dee.

David..I have access to a blow up projection screen..like the xmas decorations. Lemme know if you want me to bring it. Just turn it on and put it where you want it..I think its' a 8 x 10 ft screen. We use it at the campground for the kids then adult movies later. Not xxx adult..next movie is Behind the Candelabra with Michael Douglas. Last one was Momma Mia. Anyway..let me know. Yeah I love my redbirds, I lucked out at a kid because my dad worked for Anheuser Busch and did the payroll for the Cardinals. So we had season tickets through his work and had a few ball players live down the road from us. I grew up in Busch Stadium for the most part, Anheuser Busch used to have softball tournaments in the stadium for their employees so we had free reign to play on the field and run the corridors. Plus their families got free dogs and soda / beer, I was a happy, two fisted, hot dog eating, soda chugging, bouncing off the walls eight year old.  Ahhhh the good old days (pre INBEV).  ;D

I have never been to STL or Busch but I have been a fan since 1964. My dad took me to see the cards & yanks in the WS. I have been hooked since that day. The same week he took me to see the jets for the first time...unfortunately I have been hooked on the Jets since that day too.  :) But he had season tickets to the Giants so i am hooked on the football cards too.
