I have access to alot of waste vegi oil. After looking around on the web I thought why not give it a try. I enjoy learning about new things. Today I converted my first batch of oil. Looks good, I will find out in a few days. First pic is oil mixed with methanol and lye. Second and third pic are after reaction. Notice the clean seperation.(http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x372/Bradsanders99/IMAG0748_zps1299057b.jpg) (http://s1178.photobucket.com/user/Bradsanders99/media/IMAG0748_zps1299057b.jpg.html)(http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x372/Bradsanders99/IMAG0749_zpsa7417a55.jpg) (http://s1178.photobucket.com/user/Bradsanders99/media/IMAG0749_zpsa7417a55.jpg.html)(http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x372/Bradsanders99/IMAG0750_zpsa8ab288e.jpg) (http://s1178.photobucket.com/user/Bradsanders99/media/IMAG0750_zpsa8ab288e.jpg.html)

This is one of the reasons I love this site. It is still cooking-related and eco-friendly.

We have city busses using biodiesel. Smells like a french fry stand. ;D
Friend of mine has been doing it on a big scale for years and claims no ill effect for power. Why not if you have the means and the time.
