Title: biodiesel

I have access to alot of waste vegi oil. After looking around on the web I thought why not give it a try. I enjoy learning about new things. Today I converted my first batch of oil. Looks good, I will find out in a few days. First pic is oil mixed with methanol and lye. Second and third pic are after reaction. Cool, can you make it for less than $3.79 a gallon, if so I'll use it in our vehicles.  ;)

This is one of the reasons I love this site.  It is still cooking-related and eco-friendly.

We have city busses using biodiesel. Smells like a french fry stand.  ;D

Friend of mine has been doing it on a big scale for years and claims no ill effect for power. Why not if you have the means and the time.
