Enjoy the Flowers

Take time to enjoy the flowers. I have two clumps of two types of day lilies in front of my work shop. One a melon colored that has been putting out flowers daily for about a month. The other one a bright yellow that just started blooming. The two clumps were started from a single bulb given to me by our daughter Sarah Jane.

It was developed for a church, Willow Creek in Chicago, and that is its name. It was given out to some members who did volunteer work and she gave me hers. I planted it and later was able to divide it into two plants. Each plant will put out large lacy flowers for about a month. I didn’t plan it that way but with the melon colored ones starting a month earlier than the Willow Creek I get to enjoy flowers, two or three new ones daily for two months every summer.

My opinion is that you can't have too many day lilies.  Yours are beautiful!  Thanks for sharing.
