Mountain Get-together around the Drum

There is a real nice guy that lives down the way from us. He has lived here almost 30 years and his house went on the market. He is going to be here during the sale but he wanted to have a get-together and smoke a bunch of meat. I brought the drum down to his place and we smoked pork spares and beef ribs and a pork butt. My camera messed up on those pics.... :(   After that meat came off we grilled boneless chicken thighs and hot links and Mexican corn. Wendy made her beans,neighbors brought a bunch of sides, it was a good time. It was a nice simple Sunday out in the woods with the smell of pepper wood smoke drifting lazily in the air. Dal has a home in Riverside where he has a bunch of pepper trees. It makes for a nice smoke. Enjoy all the pics, wish I had more, but the brewskies were flowing and The Smoke did his darndest to help get rid of them...................

Yes Sir, when I lived in the San Fernando Valley, I would get envious when I would see the Fall Gatherings we have and would wish I could be there.

It seems like now, every day here is a Fall Gathering........until it gets dusk and the bears start roaming around. Almost had a deer take out my truck yesterday coming up the street three doors down. I will take that everytime instead of dealing with gangs and drugs and prostitution  8)

Just checked with Dal (gotta clean the smoker later) and he says a buddy of his will be out fishing later this week and promises a fish fry next Saturday. Maybe Albacore and Talapia....will keep you all posted...............
