Hello from Sparks NV
« Reply #-1 on: November 13, 2015, 10:10:08 PM »
I'm recently retired & planning to replace my trusty (now rusty) old Weber gas smoker with a shiny new pellet grill.  I'm happy to be a LTBBQ member & look forward to learning about new tools and BBQ tips/techniques.

Welcome from Minnesota. I don't have a pellet grill - but have been known to use pellets in a variety of ways. I look forward to hearing and seeing your cooks and ideas.

Welcome from So-Cal. I currently do not own a pellet grill but did pellet testing on 4 or 5 different models. Do you have a specific kind picked out yet??

As a guy that has NOT yet purchased a pellet grill (I just cannot make myself say pellet pooper...) BUT, a guy that HAS read and paid attention to all of the reviews from The Smoke (smokeasaurus)... I sincerely recommend you look at them before making a decision.

Welcome from Southern California. I have a Memphis Pellet grill that is made in Minnesota. They are a little on the expensive side but all stainless, well built and worth every penny!

Let us know what kind of pellet grill you get. Pics are great too!

Thanks for the warm welcome & suggestions.  I've been researching pellet grills for a few weeks now with intent to purchase by spring.  I'm currently leaning towards the Grand Slam or Grid Iron grills from Blaz'n Grills.  The reviews I've seen are positive, they look durable, and they're within budget.  I need to investigate options & pellet grilling accessories before finalizing a decision.  Have no fear, requests for your guidance are coming   ;)

Enjoy your weekend   -- SS

I can recommend the The RecTec, and the MAK lines of pellet grills. Not because they are sponsors here...but they are sponsors because they offer somethings that make them high value for the amount spent.

Welcome  ;D

Lots of us pellet cooker drivers here and not a snob in the bunch.  I've long maintained that it isn't so much the equipment that is important as it is the skill and desire of the cook.  Learning to use a pellet cooker is a process that can be fun and the potential is very high to turn out some really great groceries.  Need any help, just ask -- PM or post.

Welcome from SE Georgia! I am a proud owner of the Grid Iron and I also have a Traeger Junior.  I also did months of
research before I bought mine. I have had it over 2 years now and only upgraded the temp control and added some high heat
tape around the lid. I wouldn't trade it for anything.  I too would advise that you read the articles that Hub has put out on pellet
grills. It is very informative.
