If this is true maybe it's worth the $$$$$
« Reply #-1 on: May 02, 2016, 03:40:26 PM »
Came across this a few mins ago.  If this is true the new Weber Summit Grill might be worth more than I thought.

But I still got to ask is it worth $1600 + ??

Impressive on the charcoal usage, but not $2000 impressive. Besides I don't see me cooking anything at one time for 22 hours let alone 50 hours.

I like to fire up my grill, have a cold one while it gets ready then cook and eat. Now if I am smoking some ribs I can go for 4-5 hours but that is about my limit. It is like the SV cooking thing, I don't want to start cooking a day or two before I eat. I don't know why anybody needs to keep a charcoal grill going for 50 hours unless they are cooking commercially.

I don't think the goal here is that anyone would ever cook for 50 hours on it, it's to show that it CAN cook 50 hours. My Kegs do the same but I've never cooked anywhere close to that long. I've done 20+ hour cooks many times. When I am done, I close the vents and save the coals for the next cook. That's what makes Kamados, this one included, great!

Would I pay $1.6K or $2K for one? Nopetty nope nope. Nada. Negative.
