Yesterday my wife and I took the drive to Dallas Oregon to have an up close and personal look at the MAK 2 Star. As luck would have it Bob, the owner of MAK Grills was free long enough to give us a tour of their factory. Before even stepping into the factory I was impressed with the requirement of wearing safety glasses. Something many employers tend to over look is safety of employees and visitors. Once on the tour it was obvious that one aspect of Bob's business model is that his factory operate as cleanly and well thought out as their products. Another very nice thing we witnessed was Bob's appreciation and respect for his employees. He spoke highly of them and their skills. Thanks Bob for the tour and your valuable time spent answering our many questions. You sir have it together.
So this story doesn't get to long when we left the factory #3591 was in the back of our truck for the ride home. Today's task will be to assemble this beautiful piece of engineering and get the burn in executed. Not sure yet what will be the first meal it prepares for us but meat loaf has been mentioned. Ribs soon to follow. This journey has been a lot of fun. I tend to research the dickens out of nearly everything I buy, especially those items with a price tag that these grills come with. So many great pits out there but as far as I'm concerned for our needs we selected the best possible one. This thing is real quality, has great customer support and should still be in use by our daughter long after we are gone. Just a quick shot of it out of the shipping box and ready for assembly in our outdoor living space.
