Finally Did a Little Grilling!
« Reply #-1 on: September 12, 2021, 11:52:58 AM »
Alright, my Broil King keg survived the hurricane. I pulled it out from under the patio, opened it up and discovered that it had some water and mold on the inside. I took it apart and hosed things off and drained the water from the inside. I'm really kind of shocked that it had water in it as it stays under the patio/carport and is never left out in the rain. Just shows how bad the wind and rain was during Ida. Put it back together and loaded the Kick Ass basket with fresh lump charcoal, lit it and let it dry out and cook off any remaining mold. After a few hours I was ready to do some grilling.

I lost a lot of great meats, shrimp and crawfish from the power outage so Friday I picked up some smoked sausage and boudin for grilling and some andouille to go in some red beans that I'm cooking right now.

Not quite completely ready yet. No picture but I flipped the sausages again and added some BBQ sauce and they were pretty darn good!

I whipped a little baked beans to go with and the sausage was served on toasted sesame seed buns with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, sliced onions, mayo, mustard and a lil more bbq sauce.

Pretty darn good meal! Oh, I forgot to mention the one or two or 5 ice cold Yuengling I had while doing the grilling.

It's supposed to rain here for the next seven days starting in about an hour but I'll still try to do a little more grilling the week.
