I have been here going on 11-12 years and you can only post so many of the same cooks.

Many of us older veterans of LTBBQ are no longer posting

Some have left us for the great cookout in the sky:

Phil
2 pockets
D Holly
Smokin Don

These 4 were very active members    in fact I believe Smokin Don is still our leader in topics started.

It is all very sad. I was Tims first moderator and I was so honored by his gesture.

Moderating this forum was super easy thanks to all of you.

I feel very fortunate to have been a part of this forum.

Y'all put up with me and Smoochy for all these years............

Just wonderin how it is going to turn out

The Smoke

Don't forget Old Dave Stamper who passed in June. What a great cook he was and all his recipes are still online the last I looked.

I'm personally OK with posting a cook that has been done before --- maybe saying I have added something new, or saying I've tried doing something new with the old, and saying it just didn't work.

Pam, you are so correct. Old Dave was awesome at everything he cooked.

So sorry he is gone.

Pam, don't forget Barry "CB" Martin. I'm not sure if he was ever on this forum, but he was very prominent on the "Sizzle on the Grill" forum. That was the predecessor to this forum. CB was the PR guy for CharBroil and was a friend to all of us. Everybody thought that "CB" stood for CharBroil, but it really stood for Chef Barry.

My new M Grills M 36 is scheduled to arrive in four days.  It'll generate a bit of new posting material for me.

I'm like most here, work, life, insert excuse here. I know I will try better over the holidays. This site and you guys have taught me so much about cooking and I don't want to lose that for the next guy. I have also made some lifelong friends here with or without posting.
Love to cook and eat

Looking forward to this!

Yeah, me, too.  It didn't arrive on November 11th.  The initial date was October 14th.

I was hoping to season it and get a cook or two on it before using it to smoke-roast the Thanksgiving turkey and ham.  It's not likely now.

I've been down this road before with many special order items, including automobiles.  I'll just have to wait it out.

Hello again everyone! Been quite awhile since I've been in. I think the stupid COVID put the whammy on everything, especially peoples trust in the system that governs.
I have officially retired now, and hopefully have more time to check in more often.
Got some new outdoor cooking equipment in place that should provide some posting material.
Good to be back on!

I'm guilty here too. I'm guessing with holiday cooking happening maybe some will post their cooks. I hope to contribute something here in a day or two.

I have been far too absent from this forum from a posting point of view. I do prowl around and read and when I feel qualified will occasionally post.  Not much of a help there. Forums seem to come and go.  SmokinTex no longer has a forum. Just a store front unless I am mistaken. Why?  No idea. SmokinIt has a forum.  One member racked up over 10,000 posts in just a couple f years. The forum was a busy exchange.  One day he up and quit and the old time members who kept everything going with hints tips photos etc gradually went away.  The forum still gets a lot of guests, but postings are way down; mostly just how do I do this or that and the first few triumphant smokes. We can only buy so much equipment to brag about and cook so much food in so many way that maybe it becomes routine and possibly monotonous and interest wanes.  Sometimes a changing of the guard and new blood is needed.  Covid did not help and some folks lost jobs. Tough times.

The M Grills/Blazn factory called me today.  My M-36 has been built and is awaiting packaging for shipping.  I'm guessing that it'll arrive on or before Thursday, December 15.

I understand they are great units.  Really versatile.  What caused you to go with the Blazin if I may ask?
