It might last longer if you could devise some sort of ash pan so the bottom won't burn out..maybe some sort of stainless steel bowl that will set in the bottom..................maybe even a pc of heavy duty foil that you line on the bottom...I line the foil pan in the quality grill and I foil line the ash pan in the fire-box in my off-set...they stay pretty clean that way...of course time will tell!!

Great looking cook there LA.....looks like the reviews are out on this smoker....we sold 4 of them yesterday
Ron of you talk to those people, give them this forum info, two things, more people posting on cooker the less screwups I'll make & this forum needs more members.

LA - Just a word of advice on "set & forget" cooking as you get older...

You may find that you need to change the technique to "set and remember."  I find that if I don't set an alarm (for the "remember" part), I tend to forget better than I used to and can end up with a much longer cook than I had originally planned (I think the record is somewhere around three months).
