Rotisserie Marriage and Ribs
« Reply #-1 on: September 16, 2014, 04:14:39 AM »
Well, I married a standard Rib-O-Lator unit with a Green Mountain Daniel Boone pellet grill and wonder how well it will cook ribs.

With the additional height inside the Daniel Boone, made this modification very easy.

Looks like it will work fine....

Used my battery operated spit motor for this modification.

And a 1/2” spit rod bearing on the other end of the rod.

But, will it cook ribs???

Oh, NO!!  Do I need a Rib-O-Lator, too?  I guess an outdoor cook can't have too many toys, tools.

Dave:  I am watching and cannot wait to see the results on the ribs.  As you know, I am on the edge about buying the rib-o-lator, as I already have your rotisserie modification on my Daniel Boone.

Carl,

I sure want to thank you for the great idea of installing the Rib-O-Lator in the Daniel Boone cooker. I think it will do a great job.

Thanks again,

Dave

Sadly, all of my cookers are round, so I don't think I could adapt the Rib-O-Later.

But I still can;t wait see how they turn out ! !

Actually...because all of the rack rotate around a central shaft - they make a "circle"....So - dependent not eh six of your pits ( horizontal diameter ) - you may be able to use a Ribolator ;)

Mr Big Dawg,

Believe it or not, they do make a Rib-O-Lator to fit both your 22-1/2 WSM or your 22-1/2 Weber kettle.

Dayum, Dave ! !  Where I get one of those?

BD

It appears to be from two sources, #1 a rotisserie kit for the WSM from Cajun Bandit and #2 the Rib-O-Lator added to that rotisserie kit.
