Local butcher in hot water.

You don't don't know who to trust anymore.  This story broke this week.  But this guy was getting 5 Star ratings in Yelp as recent as mid-June!

I don't know who let the cat out of the bag, but I'm just glad they did.  Oh, and I didn't turn that phrase to imply where he might getting other meats.

"Mistake"????? How does misrepresentation / fraud equal mistake? It's like the non-apology - "I'm sorry if anyone was offended by my comments..."  ::)

For anyone into bad cult films - this reminds me of the ending of Motel Hell - "My entire life has been a lie.... I used preservatives...."  ;)

The butcher business is really built on trust. We really have no way to verify what we are paying for

Imagine the money that crook made misrepresenting what he sold. That supposedly happens a LOT with fish.

My stepson cooked and ran kitchens on the Gulf coast for years. He said it was common for a restaurant to have 12 or types of "fresh" fish on the menu but only have 3 or 4 types of fish in the freezer none of them fresh. They would just thaw out a piece of fish and cook it a certain way and call it what they wanted to.

Happens a lot with different white fishs, as most flake and taste of whatever you season them with.

I can live with the occasional butcher with the FAT thumb on the scale, but misrepresentation is going way too far! Another case of a few bad eggs giving good butchers a bad name!
Glad this bum got caught!  ;D
