Dill pickles
« Reply #-1 on: August 06, 2016, 02:43:13 PM »
Did a 7 quart batch of dill pickles today, that makes 35 quarts for the year so far. Seems like a lot but a quart lasts about three days once opened and my cukes are going crazy so what the heck. Guy across the street brought me a chocolate pepper that he said makes habeneros seem mild so I put on some food handling gloves and quartered it to put in four of the quarts. I usually put one whole habenero in a quart and they don't seem overly hot when you open the jar but get hot right quick when you cut the pepper apart and put it back in. Guess I'll find out what happens, hope they aren't too hot to eat. Yeah right.
