Can Bacon
« Reply #-1 on: January 08, 2020, 07:26:11 PM »
I was watching Guys grocery games. They had do something with lots of cheese and only could use frozen and canned foods. One of them had a can of bacon. I've never heard of canned bacon so I had to google it.

Doesn't look bad but $$$

Checked it out, too.
$24 for about 50 slices of bacon sounds pretty good IF the bacon is...

How about doing a review for us.  You're always good at putting tons of meat on the grill.

During my growing up years, camping was a big part. Canoeing, portaging into other lakes, setting up camp for a weekend of fishing on wilderness lakes. We always packed canned bacon because there weren't any worries about preservation. I remember, it was actually pretty tasty.

canned bacon has been around for years and years. when I was in high school and worked at Carousel Hot Dogs at our local mall, we used to get those large cans of pre-cooked bacon. It was rolled up in parchment paper.  I remember it was surprisingly good too.

It's not bad bacon, but it is kinda pricey. We take it on fly out hunting trips where weight is an issue, so coolers of ice are out of the question. May go without cold beer for a week, but not bacon.........no friggin' way!
