Smoked Pumpkin Pie
« Reply #-1 on: October 18, 2020, 03:53:05 PM »
We are getting ready for the holiday season and decided to try smoked pumpkin pie. My wife picked up about a 6 pound pumpkin
yesterday from the store. We used my wife's favorite pumpkin pie recipe, but added the smoked pumpkin to it.

Here it is sliced in half and with the seeds removed. I am smoking it at 250 for 2 hours in my Recteq 590.

After 2 hours it is fully cooked and ready to cool. It was refrigerated overnight.

There are going to be plenty of pies made with the amount of puree we got from the pumpkin. Our recipe calls for 2 cups.

Already to go back on the Recteq 590 at 325. We had extra left so will definitely have some pumpkin pudding.

Temperature is steady at 325!

90 minutes later and the pie is done!

I had to try the pumpkin pudding and I got to tell you this was great. Not a lot of smoke flavor, which is good, but definitely
different than using canned pumpkin. Looking forward to making more of these.
