Title: Interesting Video
Post by: Hub on August 25, 2015, 12:50:09 PM
I stumbled across this short video on a totally unrelated site.  It is short and very simplistic but basically correct about American barbeque styling by region.  What I find most interesting is that the narrator is upper class British.  Maybe it was originally made for European tourists?  KCBS is planting groups of judges and cooks in several European metropolitan centers and enjoying quite a bit of success in the effort  ;D.  Who knows, maybe someday soon there'll be some European barbeque regionality.

Good video.  When I'm in KY next month I will have to look for some "mutton" BBQ.

There are not a lot of BBQ joints in Texas that sell mutton, but I know of one that does...and the mutton is good. It is Southside Market in Elgin. When Jaxon and Albert flew down for a visit last year, I took them there to taste the bbq'ed mutton. We were so full from the other 7 or 8 BBQ joints so we didn't eat a lot of mutton. Just a small taste. I think Jaxon just had a scoop of Blue Bell ice cream.

Art, when you finally get to Texas, we will go and partake in some mutton bustin' in Elgin and, of course, Blue Bell ice cream. It is so good. I personally like mutton ribs better than pork or beef ribs. The Elgin hot gut sausage is really good, also.
