Title: Why Smoke Got a Stick Burner
Post by: LostArrow on April 13, 2016, 09:46:06 PM
Is a backyard offset the best way to cook?
Heck no , a WSM , a kamado, & some electric smokers are easier to use, hold steadier temps & allow unattended cooking.
The one thing a stick burner has is its more FUN!
It's interactive, it's entertaining, it's easier to screw up a cook & makes it more challenging.
It's fun to get your wood, stoke the fire & adjust the temperature by adjusting fuel.
It's great for fellowship & partaking of beverages.
Would I stay up overnight or cook in a cold rain on the stick burner, H!!L no!
On a day without anything important to do with good weather there's no more enjoyable way to cook!
Always better to have a supervisor!

While I know I will never have a stick burner, as I don't have the skills. But I would sure like to hang with a pro while they do it.....with adult beverages

Come on over Pappy 8)  or better yet you might be closer to LA  8) 8)

You hit the nail on the head LA. My staying up all night cooks are a thing of the past...but I am willing to get up early in the morning  ;)

Pretty much sums it up but I add the joy of man mastering the machine would be another reason.

Alright, PM me GPS coordinates and a time and I'll be there. I expect some frosty beverages and some stories of misspent youth for my efforts ;)
