Opened and here it is

All put together

Based upon other posts I was concerned about it working. So I plugged it in and all seems to work okay. I'll give it a test this weekend

Looks like the "next new thing".

I'll be interested in your initial take on this grill.

Mike,
So will probably break it in with a couple of steaks on Sunday. Any suggestions as far as what fan level etc.

Thanks

Add plenty of wood to start. And for a nice thick rib-eye go DEFCON 5 :P

Don't know if you have a SV or not, but if you do put your steak in for a few hour swim at 125-130. Take it out, pat it dry, season with your favorite seasoning and throw it on at setting 5 (defcon 5?) for just long enough to get a nice sear and bring it to your preferred IT. Can't go wrong! BTW I have read and re-read the instructions I got with my grill and see no reference anywhere to defcon? What does it stand for? I know it has 5 settings and assume they must be "defcon" 1-5.

Off the top of my head :)

The defense readiness condition (DEFCON) is an alert state used by the United States Armed Forces.[1]

The DEFCON system was developed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) and unified and specified combatant commands.[2] It prescribes five graduated levels of readiness (or states of alert) for the U.S. military. It increases in severity from DEFCON 5 (least severe) to DEFCON 1 (most severe) to match varying military situations.[1]

DEFCONs are a subsystem of a series of Alert Conditions, or LERTCONs, which also include Emergency Conditions (EMERGCONs).[3]

Obviously they put a lot of thought into that little grill if its capable of all that! :)

I guess the highest setting should actually be DEFCON 1 then...
