Title: First "Real" Cook On My Cook Air
Post by: ACW3 on June 18, 2016, 09:02:36 PM
My wife and I went shopping for dinner this afternoon.  I saw these Tomahawk Ribeyes and almost, almost bought one.  The more I thought about it, the more I decided that I really didn’t want to pay about $12 for a bone that size.

(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a429/acwiesemann/IMG_3170_zpsel1q62ie.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/acwiesemann/media/IMG_3170_zpsel1q62ie.jpg.html)

So, instead, I bought a nice skirt steak to christen my Cook Air grill properly.  The burgers last night don’t count for christening the grill.  Here is the skirt steak with some BD rub and some garlic powder, all ready to go on the grill.

(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a429/acwiesemann/IMG_3175_zpsrokyc0zn.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/acwiesemann/media/IMG_3175_zpsrokyc0zn.jpg.html)

One of my stops this afternoon was to get some proper chunks of wood to really test the grill out.  After a few false starts, I did get the grill lighted.

Steak on!!

All sliced up and ready for a steak salad with Gorgonzola and a light vinaigrette.  Very tasty, and reasonably healthy.  I realized after I started eating that I forgot to add the tomato.  Next salad.  There is enough for at least one more meal.

I really like my new Little Red Corvette.  Glad to be a member of the club.

In Minnesota, those chops would be about $20 bucks a pound. I really need to get into beef arbitrage. Great looking steak

Tell her that I approved your purchase.  The idea of it, not the money part.

I tell Mrs TF one of two things (neither of which particularly endear me to her).
1:You'll either get over it or you won't.
2:You've got from now on to get over it.
(If you believe that I'll sell you Mount Rushmore pretty cheap) :-\

Just remember, it is a small price to pay for your companionship.  Besides, you cook.  There are a lot of men out there that don't have a clue about cooking.  Those men who cook are a precious commodity, for some women.

No offense ladies.

BTW

When i worked at Cabelas when you see a price that ends in 88 cents it means its going to be discontinued.
