This thermometer is really cool. You need some sort of smart device to use it . I have an iPhone. You download the meater app and away you go. The thermometer is truly wireless. I use it for my rotisserie. The end that sticks out of the meat gives you the ambient temp so it's essentially 2 thermometers in one. The app saves previous cooks and the app has graphs and estimates cook times based on temp and the way things are moving along during cook. It's all really cool.
Now with that said. Mine failed to connect to the app after 5 cooks. This makes it useless because that's the only way to use it. So the customer service team mailed me a. NEw one. I hope that was a fluke thing and this one lasts. It's a very new product and it may not be perfected yet.
