Wood fired steaks for Pops
« Reply #-1 on: March 12, 2015, 11:08:20 PM »
Today would have been Pops 86th birthday. Since this was our first without him Wendy and I figured we would cook Pops favorite food....steaks.

Marinated a couple of New Yorks in Jack Daniels Steakhouse Marinade.

If you are wondering why Old Smoke posted a grilling cook in the Stick Burner section, well, I have a grilling firebox on my off-set smoker.

Getting the live oak fired up

Burned down to coals. I did have to toss in a handful of Briquettes, I gotta rig up the charcoal grate to hold wood coals

All grilled up

Happy Birthday Pops, Here is your plate, I sure wish you were here with me..............

Got Smoke?
