Before I came on here this morning I took out pork chops and strip loin steaks to grill on the cook-air. You beat me to it. That great minds think alike thing I guess. Did you cook your steak completely on the grill? If so what setting to cook before you set it on volcano to sear. I was going to sous vide and finish on there, but yours looked so good I might do the same. I make my own rubs but never had coffee in them, so now I have to try that. I really like that grill. I can't wait for spring time cooks on the picnic table with a crowd around.

The steak was cooked at DEFCON 5 the entire time. I think it was around 6 minutes total.

So six minutes to cook & two minutes to eat,......That is my type of steak ;) ;) ;)

Silly question I am sure but I have never used coffee Mike do you taste a strong coffee flavor after cooking?  Thanks Richard

You can taste it but it is not overpowering

That rub sounds delicious.  Last year at a contest Billy had some coffee-based rub that was aromatic and very complimentary to beef.  Where did you get the rub?
