Were those the temps you were looking for...maybe as the inside gets seasoned up more it will run a bit cooler..........

How was the overall performance of this nice looking pit??

Oh, and those ribs looked really good...did the pit hold the moisture in or do you use some form of water pan??

SWEET!!!

I think the 240° - 275° range is perfect for ribs. It seems like you got that new smoker dialed in just right on your very first cook. Impressive!

So how did you like the new style Royal Oak briquettes? Do they seem to burn just as long (five hours seems pretty decent to me)?

Tommy,NO!

Ten hunter , the 5 hour cook burned less than 1/2 of the briquittes.
I hope I love the new Royal Oak local grocery had 2 bags (18 lb) for $6.98, I've bought 200 lbs & probably pick up more!
Smoke , it'll run below 225F ,but a tiny change in airflow makes a bib change , I kinda chased 240F

WOW, even sweeter!  That smoker will pay for itself in money saved on charcoal.

Tommy, you are incorrigible!
Now, if I ever posted a thread about a cook or cooker that I didn't tweak you would wonder "whats up with Tommy?"

You know by now I'm going to tinker with everything  8)
