Other than making your own, what is your favorite store bought bacon? I've tried numerous ones and the Wrights Thick Cut Hickory Smoked Peppered is my favor.

1. Benton's
2. Neuske's

Butcher cut when you can find it.

Agree with Rad--butcher block, thick cut, smoked pepper bacon! All the rest of it is SO unpredictable anymore, it's hardly worth spending hard earned money for. Will buy regular packaged stuff if using it for poppers or to cover other meats for grilling/smoking.

I saw this at Sam's Club recently. I did a double-take. I wasn't sure I read the label correctly. It was Hormel, thick cut Cherrywood Smoked Bacon. I bought a pack. I have been buying Wright's Applewood Smoked Bacon and loving it. This Cherrywood Smoked Bacon is really good. If you find some, give it a try. You can thank me later.

I like Farmland bacon. Thin cut for wrapping stuff and thick cut for burgers and eating!

If it is store bought than I am with Dee. We love the Wright's thick cut pepper bacon!

Wright's is at the top of my list

I buy Wright's regularly....but I was not kidding about ranking Benton's and Neuske's ABOVE Wrights.....
If you want real, old time, real hardwood smoked, long slow cured bacon that is not "sloppy", wet and stretchy coming out of the package - these are 2 brands to try.
They are not typically at the everyday grocery store. And - they are not something I will splurge on very often. But - they ARE a treat!

Tim, Where do you get those? They maybe around here and I just ain't seen them. Dee

Very seldom use store bought bacon, I use my butchers smoked thick cut. I do buy Oscar Myers or Hormels center cut for wrapping.

Butcher cut when you can find it.
"Thick Sliced Bacon" on the package means you can read a newspaper through it. "Thin Sliced Bacon" means it'll fall apart if you try to pick it up. Every now and then you can get lucky and find a slab in the meat case and get the butcher to slice it THICK ;D
