This last weekend I had to make a fast run to Cincinnati Oh. My brother is now living there and is still going through a tough time with the after math of cancer surgery.
Looking like he has to have another yet which is going to be a battle to get him to do because hes about tired of it all...
But that's not the topic of this ...
I had a misconception of that particular area above the southern border...  :o   I have dealt with a lot of people who have similar misconceptions about the south so I want to go on record with what I found.
I met more friendly folks in Cincinnati than anywhere I have ever been!  I mean conversations at gas pumps , in front of stores, it was really a great experience. My sister and I  did get downtown to German Fest a couple hours Saturday night. Even the drunks were courteous for the most part...  I wish the trip had been more leisure than it was..
I only had a few hours of spare time. My next trip I will plan better and hopefully even be able to meet up with some forum member's up there.
I now know they call Cincinnati "America's largest small town"  and I think its a perfect description.

Terry, definitely keep me posted; I'd love to meet up with you!

Hopefully you can time a trip next year and make the Ohio Buckeye gathering.

My wife and I need to go to Cincinnati one of these days.  We need to do some family genealogy while we are there.  My great grandfather lived there for a long time.

Traveling the US and the world, I've found the stereotypes of people are more often wrong than right. I've found if I enter a conversation assuming it will be pleasant, it almost always is.

My thoughts and prayers are with your brother and your family. I wish you all the very best.

Terry, I'm sure that your brother is doing better after a visit from you. I'll be praying for his health.

I've noticed the same thing about Cincinnati. It must be because of Dr. Johny Fever and Venus Flytrap playing all those mellow songs on WKRP in Cincinnati.
