Tip for your grease bucket!

Seal the bottom inside edge and bottom of the grease bucket with a good silicone sealant. it will keep the bottom seam from getting moisture in it and opening due to freezing. Better then buying a new one every spring!

I found a small plastic bucket at our local Fred Meyer that fits right inside the galvanized bucket that came with the pellet smoker.  I set that inside the galvanized bucket to catch the drippings - has worked great and it is easy to pour the trapped "gunk" into a disposable container and wash the bucket.  The plastic inserts I found are only like 69 cents each so I buy a few and change them out when it gets to the point where I dont' want to wash it anymore.  Just another option.

I line my bucket with foil so clean-up is a breeze. But usually Bella thinks it's her job to clean the bucket out!

great ideas!

I pour in some kitty litter to absorb the grease...it empties easily into a trash bag.

I know a lot of you like to keep your grease bucket clean. The one that came with my Traeger has never leaked and I do not keep it clean. I empty it into a large plastic container and when it gets full I take it to Sandman's carry out and empty into his grease container, it gets recycled. Don
