Mini Pizzas on the NuWave Brio Air Fryer
« Reply #-1 on: January 08, 2017, 01:30:28 PM »
I bought the NuWave Brio Air Fryer as a Christmas present for my wife.  Since there are only the 2 of us at home and with her
work and gym schedule we wanted something for a quick, light and healthy dinner.  Since the weather and darkness have
prevented a lot of smoking or grilling this seemed to fit the bill.  We like it since it is a 1300 watt fryer, with a powerful circulating fan,
retractable 4 foot cord and a preheat function.  We have tested it with several items of food the past few weeks and it has worked
perfectly.  We did some wings the other night and they were fantastically crisp and juicy on the inside. We have also cooked fish, fries,
onion rings and chicken legs.

Today we wanted a quick snack so we decided to have some mini pizzas in the air fryer.

I purchased the double rack for the basket and it allows us to cook more than just the basket alone.

The Brio was preheated and set for 5 minutes and in went the mini pizzas.

These came out perfect in just 5 minutes.

We have an oil fryer but will probably retire it.  The air fryer food is healthier and since we both are trying to eat better this does the trick.

Mike..try a blooming onion..fabulous..cut top off and turn over and cut thru, don't cut the stem and soak in cold water for a while..this separates the onions, then use and egg wash on it then sprinkle seasoned bread crumbs...15 minutes, I do preheat and enjoy with a dip. Saves over 1500 calories per onion.  .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

Looks interesting Mike. We do need some oils for functionality,  but the oils we use for frying are generally very bad for us. This Air-Fryer has got to be a very good way of cooking those foods which were previously fried!

Have had an air fryer for over a year. A little learning curve.
It's not a deep fat fryer.
Makes good French fryes
Makes wonderful roasted potatoes & baked with crisp skin.
For making breaded fryed food like fish, chicken etc. I've found works best with panko bread crumbs mixed with flour about 3 parts panko to 1 flour.
Doesn't cook a lot at once but enough for 2.

Yeah Mike - that is a good idea... Tell us about the Brio. I will do one when I get my fryer. It is a different brand. I just wanted more capacity - otherwise...would have bought the Brio.

I am working on it. I want to get a few more cooks in before I write the review.

360 for 5 minutes. For a little crispier pizza you can go about 7 to 8 minutes.
