I had told the wife I was not cooking today and we would do some broasted chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy from Beer and Wine. For the second time we had a nice rain without any storming. From about 4 am until noon we had 1.4 inches. It was on the cools ide but late afternoon was nice enough to open the house for fresh air.
No Sandman does not sell leftover chicken; but for the first time I can remember when she called they said we are out of chicken except for a couple of thighs and wings. On Sunday he runs a special on his 8 piece broasted chicken. I said did you order it and she said no I thought we’d wait until the kids got here to see what they want. I said well call back and order it, the thighs and wings are my favorite parts; and get some mashed and gravy too. That’s why I called it Sandman’s leftover chicken.
He does run out of his daily specials he does up for lunches on some days if you don’t get them early. The other day I was in there at 11 am, he said I just did up some ribs for the lunch special and I am sold out already!
Anyway when the daughter in law and grandson got here she said she would eat some leftovers I had and the grandson only knew he wanted mashed potatoes and gravy! He had a wing and some of my saffron rice with his mashed potatoes and gravy. My wife had chicken w/mashed and gravy too. I toasted up some rolls with my gorgonzola chive garlic butter to go with it and I am happy I got my chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy too!
