I’m excited! I just saw in the Food Section of the local paper that we can now make our own bacon with The Original Baconkit! For only $19.99 we can get a kit that has “everything you need to make 5 lbs of delicious homemade bacon.”
The Original Baconkit includes (parentheses mine):
Curing Bag (plastic bag with a cool logo – supply your own twist tie)
Pink Curing Salt (in a cute little bottle with some other stuff)
Premium Maple Sugar (in a cute, slightly larger bottle)
Thermometer (one of those pop-up ones you always rip out of turkeys)
Instruction Kit (with pictures and large print)
Oh, I almost forgot … “The only fresh ingredient you need to purchase is pork belly.”
WHAT?
They want $19.99 for about $2 worth of stuff (max) and I still have to buy belly? Really? I don't think I even know anybody who knows anybody who's that stupid.
Uhh, maybe I’m not excited any more. Maybe I’m just really upset that I didn’t figure out how to sell that concept before they did.

I'm thinking this is brought to you by the good folks who, fortunately for some, introduced us to pet rocks!

I could hook you up for TWO kits for 19.99. Of course you will have to pay separate shipping and handling on the second kit!
