Just an update, my son is now sworn in and ready for his training.
He has been hit with a taser and been sprayed with pepper spray so now the training/ride alongs can start.
Kimmie is not real happy but how can you tell him not to do the job he was meant for?
Thanks for letting a proud dad show off a little. :)

I can understand Kimmie being worried, but you still have to be proud of him.

It is nice to see someone who wants to serve instead of just take.
Good luck!

Tommy that is fantastic! You should be very proud. It takes a special person to become a police officer! Thank him for his public service from me!
BTW I know Kimmie is worried but here are the 10 most dangerous jobs in America and Police Officer is not on the list...
1. Logger
2. Pilot
3. Fisher
4. Iron/Steel Worker
5. Garbage Collector
6. Farmer/Rancher
7. Roofer
8. Electrical Power Installer/Repairer
9. Sales, Delivery, and Other Truck Driver
10. Taxi Driver/Chauffeur
I would be more worried about my son working at a liquor store than being an officer.

Congratulations Tommy and Kimmie :)

Inevitable!
Little I know about your son that you told me, he will enjoy much success!
As a volunteer medic and public servant he was doing that for free... now he will get paid!
I feel most people that truly enjoy their job do not watch the clock and do a better job than someone doing it because they could not find anything else or accidently wound up in the job.
He is a man on a mission... a man with purpose! Proud for your family Tim!

May God watch over those who protect and serve. You have every right to be proud of him.

Congrats! My son got out of the Army and is a Corrections Officer. It is a tough job. Glad they have the desire to do it.

Sincerest wishes for a long and safe career; unfortunately, as parents we cannot deter our kids from their chosen professions. It is always hard though - to keep one's mouth shut despite what you want to say as a concerned parent.
